Webb cracks at Cameron on 3D for Spidey
So there’s no way to stop Sony Pictures from chugging along with their inevitable 2012 release of the upcoming reboot of the entire Marvel Spider-Man franchise. Not only is the production coming out with a brand new cast and crew, it’s going to be featured in mouth-watering 3D. Well, that’s the impression that will be given since Marc Webb recently got to chat it up with Avatar director James Cameron on the use of the third dimension for his monstrous film.
The folks at MTV got to sit down with Jon Landau, Cameron’s producing partner, and got to figure out what exactly the two directors were chatting about.:
“[Webb] wants to do the next one in 3-D, which they’ve announced that they want to do. So, we want to try to support that as much as possible.”
“Other movies are turning to it now, some of which I agree with, some of which I don’t agree with. ‘Clash of The Titans’ is coming out in 3-D; they’re converting it very hastily into 3-D. I’m not in favor if that,” Landau explained, saying he and Cameron much prefer what “Spider-Man” is doing. “If you want to shoot a 3-D movie, shoot it in 3-D.”
The hunt for Peter Parker and the rest of the cast is still going on. Since this is going all the way back to Parker’s high school years, we can expect a young web-slinger. So, let’s turn the tables on you for right now. Do you think they should make this upcoming Marvel movie in 3D? Do you think that it’ll incline several other movies, including the Avengers movie, to go into 3D if they’re already taking an approach on such a huge property within the Marvel family?

no no no no.. dammit 3D, stay out of the Marvel U!!!
if the Avengers goes 3D i will actually cry.
