Weaving could become the Red Skull

Actor Hugo Weaving could be adding yet another adaptation under his belt, this one being the comic book kind as he is in the middle of talks to play the villainous Red Skull in The First Avenger: Captain America, says Heat Vision Blog. The Red Skull is better known as Johann Shmidt, a trained Nazi soldier under Hitler’s wing who stands as Captain America’s long-standing foe.

Although the villain could become a possible lock within the next couple of days, the biggest question a lot of fans have is who will end up playing Steve Rogers/Captain America. The First Avenger: Captain America is being helmed by The Wolfman director Joe Johnston with a script written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The Paramount Pictures and Marvel Enterprises film is expected to come out on July 22nd, 2011.
