Weaver cleans up her Ghostbusters 3 rumor mess

Submitted by Melissa Molina on December 18, 2009 – 10:28 amOne Comment

Sigourney_Weaver_at_the_2008_Tribeca_Film_FestivalLast week it was reported that Sigourney Weaver spilled some beans about the Ghostbusters 3 plot that included a very strange and some what disturbing spoiler about Bill Murray’s fate in the franchise. Well, thankfully MTV Movies Blog set the record straight on what in the hell is really going on with the upcoming third installment.:

“I haven’t read the script,” she said. “They’re sending me the script. I guess my little son Oscar who was kidnapped is a Ghostbuster, which makes me very proud. So [director] Ivan Reitman called me the other day and said he would love me to take a look at it. In a few weeks I’ll actually know what it is, though I probably won’t be able to talk about it.”

These are the times when you wish people would not speak before they really know what’s going on with something and don’t just guess. Sigourney Weaver is a wonderful actress but in this case she did something blatantly stupid by spreading the ‘Bill Murray ghost’ rumors about. Once the real plot synopsis of the script comes to light, we will be one of the first to let you know.
