Watson and Lerman are looking for Perks
Emma Watson and Logan Lerman are in the middle of talks to go and co-star in the upcoming coming-of-age film The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The film is based off a novel by Stephen Chbosky and was published back in 1999 by MTV Books, as utterly strange as it sounds. Chbosky has already been tapped to write and direct the feature version.
“Perks” is narrated by a shy and unpopular teenager who describes his life by writing a series of letters to an anonymous person and explores the awkward times of adolescence, including drug use and sexuality (Variety). Set to produce the picture is Russell Smith, Lianne Halfon and John Malkovich under his Mr. Mudd banner.
Logan Lerman recently starred in Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and recently signed on to be part of the cast for Paul W.S. Anderson’s 3-D version of The Three Musketeers. Watson is reprising her role as Hermione in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I and II, the first being released on November 19th and the second half coming out on July 15th of 2011.
