Watchmen has already set a Record!!

With only two days to go till the nationwide release of Warner Bros. highly anticipated Watchmen release, the film has already set a record.   Watchmen is now the largest release ever for an R rated film.  It seems director Zack Snyder has a knack for R rated records as his last film 300 was at the time the second highest grossing opening weekend ever for an R rated film (though may go lower with this weeks release).  Of Watchmen‘s theaters this weekend 124 of them will be in IMAX screens, and 3,611 in standard theaters.

Polling even has the film being thought to be the biggest Comic Book film of the year with a 64 percent agreement per movietickets.com.  Even Fandango is getting in on the action and has stated that Watchmen is taking up 90% of all advance tickets sales currently with the Jonas Bros. sitting quietly behind.
