Warner Bros is off to Oz
Warner Bros Pictures must be salivating over the thought of visiting Oz once more on not just one but two Wizard of Oz films. The first of the two projects is entitled Oz, but there’s no word on what exactly the plot is about other than the obvious location. Penning the script is Darren Lemke, who’s other writing credits include Shrek Forever After and Jack the Giant Killer.
The second one in the batch for Warner Bros has yet to reveal a title, but has A History of Violence writer Josh Olson putting together the script. The story focuses on a granddaughter of Dorothy who returns to Oz to fight evil (LA Times). This sudden boost on these two projects is mainly because of the big time domestic box office success of Walt Disney Pictures’ Alice in Wonderland.
Do you want to see either of these two Oz stories on the big screen, or would you rather continue to cling onto the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz starring Judy Garland?

The classic is just that. a classic. A musical. staple of childhood.
However, if a film can be done that is faithful to the book, that could be pretty cool.
