Warner Bros has no Sympathy

Submitted by Melissa Molina on January 8, 2010 – 7:19 amNo Comment

Warner Bros Pictures keep themselves in the remaking business with acquiring the rights to the Chan-Wook Park film Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance. The scribe they have set on the Americanized version of this film is Brian Tucker, who’s previous works include Broken City. In “Sympathy,” the women two different men love most are murdered, and the men set out on violent quests to punish those responsible. Trouble is, they themselves are the ones responsible and only one of them will have vengeance (Variety).

Producing the still in development picture is Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Ted Kim, Miky Lee and Steven Schneider with their respected companies di Bonaventura Pictures, Room 101 and CJ Entertainment. The latest of Chan-Wook Park’s work that got the overseas distribution treatment was the summer release of Thirst.
