Warner Bros gives us the plot for The Green Lantern
The people at In The News (via Awards Daily) give us the official plot synopsis released by Warner Bros Pictures/DC Entertainment for the upcoming comic book adapted feature The Green Lantern. Mind you, there is a snippet of spoilers below so if you don’t want to read it then don’t check out the italicized piece below.:
“In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers,” read the movie’s premise. “But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.”
The synopsis adds that Jordan must learn to wield his new powers in order to overcome the villain, suggesting that Mark Strong’s Sinestro may not be the Green Lantern’s archenemy until later in the series.
The Green Lantern, directed by Martin Campbell, is based off the character created by Martin Nodell and Bill Finger. The big screen version of the popular comics stars Ryan Reynolds, Peter Sarsgaard, Blake Lively, Mark Strong, Temuera Morrison and Tim Robbins. The Green Lantern flies into theaters everywhere on June 17th, 2011.
