Warner Bros bringing us to Gilligan’s Island
Warner Bros Pictures are putting their heads together with Atlas Entertainment with the inevitable big screen version of the popular CBS show Gilligan’s Island. The script is being penned by Brad Copeland, who’s written a couple of films which include Wild Hogs and the upcoming CGI animation/live action hybrid feature Yogi Bear. Set to produce the picture is Richard Suckle and Charles Roven under Atlas Entertainment and Jon Berg overseeing for Warner Bros.
Variety has a bit more from producer Charles Roven on what is to be expected of the modernized tale.:
Roven told Daily Variety that he’s hoping to start production as early as next year but won’t move forward on seeking a director or cast until Copeland’s script is completed.
“The characters are so good,” Roven added. “We think it’s going to be a great story to transport these cultural icons to the modern day.”
