Visual effects semi-finalists are announced

This years semifinalists for best visual effects have been announced today and in the bunch we have the inclusion of the first ever 3-D film in the mix.  With this newest film in the mix, the kodak theatre where the awards will be held will now have to install 3-D equipment to provide a forum where each of the nominated films will be forced to submit clips of their films and answer questions as to the validity of their film and how the effects were done.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Journey to the Center of the Earth

Hellboy 2

Iron Man

Australia

The Mummy: tomb of the dragon emperor
