Update on Batman 3 and Man of Steel villains

Two of the biggest films Warner Brothers will be rolling out in 2012 will be Nolan’s Batman 3 and now Zack Snyder’s The Man of Steel. There’s been plenty of speculation about possible villains for these big movies, and here’s the latest.

On Batman 3:

With plenty of fan speculation that the villain is The Riddler, IGN has reported that Inception co-star and Oscar winner Marion Cotillard has turned down the role of either Catwoman or Talia Al Ghul, the daughter of Ra’s Al Ghul (who was seen in Batman Begins by Ken Wanatabe). Scriptflagsconfirms. Interesting, no? This doesn’t mean that another villain will be featured as usually Nolan’s films feature a complex large cast. We shall see as WB has promised a big announcement for Batman 3 before year’s end.

On Man of Steel:

Now with a director tapped, it looks like the villain is all but confirmed. After fan favorites like Brainiac, Doomsday, or Bizzaro have been secretly wished, /Film says it is General Zod, from Richard Donner’s Superman II who was famously played by Terrance Stamp.
