Unauthorized: The Harvey Weinstein Project
Harry Weinstein the former head of Miramax and the current head of Weinstein company is the focus of the documentary, Unauthorized: The Harvey Weinstein Project, narrated by Peter Fonda. The film tracks Weinstein from his concert promoter days in Buffalo, NY to his Oscar winning Pulp Fiction and beyond.
It examines his relationship with is brother, staff and the Hollywood machine, complete with insider interviews. Avrich says “Harvey and Bob Weinstein, without a question, redefined so many rules of Hollywood marketing, distribution and filmmaking that you simply can’t ignore their impact on history.” IFC president Jonathan Sehring calls the film “entertaining and provocative” – shedding light on what makes Weinstein the mogul tick.
Interestingly enough, Weinstein had a small focus in the Troy Duffy documentary, Overnight, which focuses on Duffy’s rocky relationship with Weinstein during his reign at Miramax.
