Two Moses projects in the works
Moses will be returning to the big-screen in not just one adaptation of The Book of Exodus, but two. Insiders tell Vulture that both Warner Bros. and Twentieth Century Fox are competing to create adaptations. The project over at WB is simply title, Moses, and is described as “an epic version of the story of the Israelites’ departure from Egypt.”The film is being produced by Dan Lin and Matti Leshem, with Stuart Hazeldine (Knowing, The Day The Earth Stood Still) and  Michael Green (Green Lantern, Smallville).
Meanwhile, Twentieth Century Fox is also planning a project known as the Untitled Moses Projectwith producer Peter Chernin. This film is being written by Bill Collage and Adam Cooper (Accepted, Tower Heist). Fox’s film is moving along quicker and is looking at directors, with a final draft about the completed for WB’s adaptation. Although, both projects will have a very hard time living up to Cecil B. DeMille’s Ten Commandments and Dreamworks’ The Prince of Egypt. Both of which are very well-received adaptations about Moses.
