Troll 2: Part 2 update
Okay, it’s a slow news day, but with Troll 2 just hitting Blu-ray in a special 20th Anniversary Nilbog Edition and with Best Worst Movie coming to DVD very soon in early November, it seems the world is ready for more Troll 2. Wait, what?
First of all, there’s a Troll 3, but it doesn’t follow the “events” in Troll 2 and it came out in 1993 by director Joe D’Amato and Fabrizio Laurenti, so there you go there. But I’m actually talking about a real, true sequel to the worst movie of all-time, Troll 2. Actor/director Michael Paul Stephenson was interviewed by Movie Line a few months back and he ran into Troll 2 “director” Claudio Fragasso and he said: “Ay, a-Michael, look at zis! We musta make Troll 2: Part 2. The sequel! We must-a make it!”
What’s the latest on Troll 2: Part 2? In July, it was announced that the script was done (here) and more recently, like last week, Metro claims that Fragasso is seeking money to get the film made. Something tells me that this will be in development hell for a good, long while. But never say never…
This is the best news. I hope his arrogant naievety of troll 2 stays true through part 2.
