Transformers 3 to wrap up filming next month?

There’s been a lot of set images and videos from Michael Bay’s Transformers 3 hitting the Internet lately, but what fans really want to see are the robots. Of course, we’ll have to wait until filming is completed, so the Transformers can be added in post-production. But it seems that you may not have to wait much longer for that to begin.

Producer Don Murphy posted on his message boards that filming may be wrapping up soon. “6 weeks shooting left on Transformers 3,” he posted. It’s uncertain if he simply made a mistake or if filming will actually be complete in that time frame right now. If true, then it could raise questions about how much CG the film will require. The film has a budget of a little more than the previous film, but that may also account for the use of 3D cameras. Filming will be heading to The Kennedy Space Center in late-September, then will be heading to Washington, D.C.

Transformers 3 will open on July 1, 2011.
