Transformers 3 problems are in 3D

There have already been several problems behind-the-scenes of Transformers: Dark of the Moon (here, here, and here) that has lead many to believe the film is already jinxed even before it’s released. Bay has just entered post-production (here), and it was thought things were looking up for the film. However, more problems have possibly come up in the one area that many are already skeptical about, 3D.

We’ve already heard that a few scenes will converted in post-production (here), but insiders tell IESB that Bay is having trouble with the 3D for the film. It’s not the post-conversion either, but the scenes that were shot in 3D.  ”The 3-D looks like shit and we don’t know if we will be able to use all of it the way it is,” the insider said. We’ve already heard Bay speak against 3D, claiming his filming style doesn’t work with the technology, and it would seem that Bay is right. Some of the best people who have used 3D are even having trouble with process. “Avatar set the standard very high for 3-D films and even though some of the best people in the 3-D business were brought aboard for TF3 but with Michael’s quick, aggressive style of shooting without any real past experience has caused hiccups,” the insider claimed.

This doesn’t mean that filming will have to once again commence, but it won’t have the level of quality Paramount was hoping it to be. Basically, the scenes shot in 3D will have to tweaked in post-production, and could really hurt the film’s 3D quality. While it won’t have the same quality as James Cameron’s Avatar, but it hopefully won’t be the same as Clash of the Titans. The film that made post-conversion process notorious. If there’s any good news to this, it’s that word seems to confirm the film will have more superior plot than Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The special effects are said to be looking “insane”, but this may sway many to just view the film in 2D.
