I'm just an average man/
With an average life/
I work from nine to five/
Hey, hell, I pay the price/
All I want is to be left alone/
In my average home/
But why do I always feel/
Like I'm in the twilight zone
For my money, this is the best gangster movie ever made. I’m very partial to it since I grew up with it like the older generation grew up with THE GODFATHER. I’ve seen this movie so many times, so that adds to it for me.
Interesting point of fact, the Steve Martin/Rick Moranis film, MY BLUE HEAVEN is an unofficial sequel to this movie.

One of Scorsese’s best, and a crime it didn’t win Best Picture that year. While I’m an old school gangster film fan, like the ones from WB in the 1930s, Scorsese’s always had that feel of those, mixed with real violence.
