Top Secret Super 8 lands a release date
Various sources are reporting a June 10, 2011 release date for the J.J. Abrams/Steven Spielberg vehicle. What I want to know is when are we going to see a trailer with some concrete footage from the film? When it happens we will have it.
“J.J. Abrams will next direct a project that will be both a tribute to and a collaboration with Steven Spielberg - a tip of the hat to [Spielberg's] movies of the 70′s and early 80′s. The project reportedly will deal with everyday people whose personal relationships are tested when they are thrown up against extraordinarily fantastic – and possibly other-worldly – events.”

Still too far away but good things are worth the wait as they say, I don’t think we will get an official trailer for some time yet (prove me wrong lol).
I love how the teaser homages CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND. Any picture that wants to go back to the Spileberg I grew up with in the late 70′s/early 80′s is on my must-see list.
Well okay, whatever is in that boxcar won’t warm and cuddly like E.T.

That part will be more of the WAR OF THE WORLDS Spielberg. The setup is old school though.
Just read that FNL’s Kyle Chandler has been cast in the male lead role. Good choice.
