Tony Scott to direct 24 movie?
Given the success of the hit show 24 on Fox, it’s surprising we have yet to see a feature film. A movie has been in the works, and a script was last reported to have been completed (here), but things aren’t looking good for the film. Assignment X spoke with the show’s executive producer, Howard Gordon, and revealed some not soo good news on the film’s status.
The first thing Gordon mentions is the script that Billy Ray (Volcano, State of Play) had turned wasn’t to the studio’s liking, and that has scrapped his take. “It wasn’t strong enough or compelling enough to the studio obviously to move ahead with it,” he said. While that version of the film is dead, Gordon does mention that Tony Scott (Unstoppable, Top Gun) is rumored to have come up with a new version for the film. Word is that Scott will see what Kiefer Sutherland thinks of the idea, and see where things go from there.
