Tidbit on Cloverfield 2

Matt Reeves, the director of Cloverfield and the Let the Right One In remake gave a quick bit on the possible sequel, while at this week’s SXSW Film Festival. “I can tell you nothing, [but] there are these spikes in activity. There are things that we keep talking about and things spike up. It very well may happen.”

Before one gets excited or enraged, despite on how you felt about the first film, Reeves cautioned: “There’s a personal project that J.J. is about to do. J.J. is in the early stages of what he’s doing and he’s getting consumed by it.” It’s unknown what that personal project of J.J. Abrams is (perhaps Star Trek 2? Lost motion picture? Or something else new?), Reeves himself is in post-production on Let Me In, the remake of the previously mentioned Let the Right One In remake.

  1. IMO, the first film is the most under-rated film of the last decade. I do want to see a sequel, but I hope they ditch the shakey cam. It didn’t bother me, but it wouldn’t work a second time. Oh and more of the monster too.
