The winner for the Terminator rights is…

After a very heated battle that’s spanned on for awhile in regards to the Terminator rights, at the end Pacificor took the prize. The Santa Barbara based company managed to push out the bid of $29.5 Million, taking on the full Terminator fashion of not stopping what so ever until the target is reached. Among those knee deep in the bidding war was Sony Pictures and Lionsgate, both of them wanting to take a slice but once reaching a certain bidding point could not compete any longer.

Here’s a little more of the legal details that Pacificor and Halcyon has mustered together, despite their legal entanglements they’ve both dealt with between each other in the past when it came to putting together the dough to make Terminator Salvation (Deadline Hollywood):

Halcyon will receive $5 million for every Terminator movie made from now on, as well as keeps the revenue streams from the movies Terminator 3 and 4. An arrangement also was made that the sale now wipes out the debt Halcyon owed Pacificor. The deal is subject to approval by the bankruptcy court. It will be presented to the judge at a hearing on Thursday.

  1. I just hope they won’t make anymore films. The series is over with T2 and should stay that way.
