The Three Musketeers reboots once more

Reboots are a common placing within the realms of Hollywood nowadays, being used as the some what cheap way for a production company or a studio to go and try and boost up ticket sales by bringing back something familiar to the general audience that perhaps a newer generation has yet to watch. This is the case once more with the inevitable remake of The Three Musketeers, with producer Lionel Wilgram latched onto the project and guiding it along the track to a possibly swift release.

“The Three Musketeers” tells the story of hot-headed D’Artagnan as he joins forces with three veteran musketeers to battle the villainous Cardinal Richelieu. Also in the mix is the mysterious figure of Milady (Variety). No word yet on who will be attached to direct this feature.

Scribe Peter Straughan is attached to write the newest version of the classic tale that was originally written by Alexandre Dumas. This particular reboot is getting the “Sherlock Holmes” treatment, since it is being produced by the same person who helped bring the Christmas 2009 film back onto the big screen. Claiming already to play up on “the action and sexier elements of the story”, we can only wonder how this version is going to be on the big screen this time around.
