The Thing prequel gets greenlit
Production Weekly posted on their Twitter page that the long-gestated prequel to John Carpenter’s masterpiece The Thing is a go. Those involved sure have some huge boots to fill. Matthijs van Heijningen, Jr. directs the story about the mutation that attacked the Norwegian base that was briefly shown in the remake.
“Universal’s prequel to John Carpenter’s classic thriller “The Thing,” is due to begin filming March and continue till June in Toronto.”

Can’t wait.

Rob Bottin’s wonderful make-up will be replaced with CG. If they are smart they will combine the two like Stephen Sommers did with DEEP RISING.
