The Thing prequel gets greenlit

thingProduction Weekly posted on their Twitter page that the long-gestated prequel to John Carpenter’s masterpiece The Thing is a go. Those involved sure have some huge boots to fill. Matthijs van Heijningen, Jr. directs the story about the mutation that attacked the Norwegian base that was briefly shown in the remake.

“Universal’s prequel to John Carpenter’s classic thriller “The Thing,” is due to begin filming March and continue till June in Toronto.”
