The Karate Kid sequel starts up

If you thought that Sony Pictures would not capitalize on the sudden success of The Karate Kid remake and make a sequel, then I’m not entirely sure what you were thinking. Given how hard it is nowadays in Hollywood to go and get a super awesome hit on their hands, it’s no wonder that Sony Pictures is already batting around ideas for the untitled Karate Kid sequel, reports Deadline.

The Karate Kid remake, starring Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, has taken in about $68 Million so far. That’s a pretty nice number considering that the production budget was only $40 Million.
