The Joker could be recast for third Batman

According to MTV, at The People Choice Awards, The Dark Knight producer Chuck Roven stated that while Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer are finally in talks to do the third Batman film in this new franchise, he also mentioned that they are mauling over recasting Heath Ledger since they’re wanting the Joker in this new film.

Personally, it’s too early to get all bent out of shape. Also, I think it would do this film a disservice having the Joker in it, since now (fortunately or unfortunately) Ledger’s take is so iconic, it could backfire by recasting it. Finally, just having Nolan and Goyer back is probably the most important thing right now. Stay tuned.
