The House of the Devil on VHS!

I wish Killer Film would of been sent one of these badass promotional goodies because it is flippin’ cool and brings back the good old days when artwork ruled and clamshell covers reigned supreme. Those lucky dogs at Dread Central received one and you can drool over the awesomeness to the left. From the theatrical posters to this bit of genius I have to give Magnolia Pictures and Dark Sky Films an A+ in the marketing department.

The retro horror flick comes out on Blu-Ray/DVD February 2nd.

Synopsis: Sam (Donahue) is a pretty college sophomore, so desperate to earn some cash for a deposit on an apartment that she accepts a babysitting job even after she finds out there is no baby. Mr. and Mrs. Ulman (Noonan and Woronov) are the older couple who lure Sam out to their creaky Victorian mansion deep in the woods, just in time for a total lunar eclipse. Megan (Gerwig) is Sam’s best friend, who gives her a ride out to the house and reluctantly leaves her there despite suspecting that something is amiss. Victor (Bowen) at first seems like just a creepy guy lurking around the house but quickly makes it clear that Sam will end this night in a bloody fight for her life…

  1. It wasn’t Magnolia who came up with the GENIUS marketing idea – it was the marketing peeps at Dark Sky Films (MPI)!!!!!

  2. I stand corrected. You rock Dark Sky Films(MPI)!

  3. I need to get me one of those! I’m sure enough people would buy that if they put in on sale, even if it’s a limited time thing.

  4. I Love This Movie!
