The Hobbit looks to travel at June

Submitted by Melissa Molina on January 6, 2010 – 10:24 am2 Comments

hobbitYesterday must have become the day where anything attached to MGM that was on pre-production went into random hiatus for apparently no reason whatsoever. After the whole debacle with Bond 23 going in and out of hiatus within a day, we have around the same experience happening this time with Guillermo Del Toro’s The Hobbit. We reported yesterday that Bond 23 suffered the whole hassle of postponement due to financial what-not in MGM, and with that The Hobbit was also getting thrown under the bus. All of you Lord of the Rings junkies will be happy to read this piece of Twitter news from Production Weekly.:

Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of JRR Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” is due to begin a 14 month production schedule this June in New Zealand.

There you have it, all things are still on track for the Lord of the Rings prequel, produced by Peter Jackson. Now it’s just a mere question of who else will be joining up on the casting sector before the start of filming. Here’s hoping no more one-day hiatuses pop up again.
