The Dark Knight Rises won’t be Strange
The one thing everyone wants to know about Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises is the identity of Batman’s next opponent. We’ve already heard that Tom Hardy (Inception) has been cast in the film, and that it won’t feature The Joker (here), Two-Face (here), or The Riddler (here). Recent rumors (here) have popped up online that pointed towards another one of Batman’s old villains, Hugo Strange, but it seems we can now cross-out that name as well.
Batman-on-film has gotten word from one of their reliable sources that Tom Hardy will NOT be playing Hugo Strange in The Dark Knight Rises. We can probably expect that other rumor about Nolan basing the film off Prey to be dismissed as well. Ironically, the trailer for Batman: Arkham City was recently released a couple weeks ago that features Hugo Strange as the primary villain. What probably happened was those insiders were mistook the plot-line of the game for Nolan’s film, and that’s how the rumor began. Although, the trailer did get many interested in seeing Strange as the villain, and he certainly fits within Nolan’s universe. But it’s just not true at all. Of course, by now everyone is tired of hearing about who won’t be featured, but word is that Nolan will make his announcement early next year.
