The Dark Knight Rises with a new start date

Taking a break from villain rumors for The Dark Knight Rises, it’s time to figure out just when the film will actually begin shooting. We’ve been hearing that Nolan is aiming to begin shooting in April (here and here), but it looks as though that’s changed, and is looking to begin at the start of the summer. Speaking with Empire Online, Michael Caine (Alfred Pennyworth) revealed that filming is expected to begin in May and end in November.

Not only does he mention that, but the script is expected to be completed next January. Of course, even the actors already signed on are left in the dark about the details. “Christopher is the most secretive guy in the world. He won’t tell you anything,” he said. That doesn’t really dismiss recent rumors about Tom Hardy’s role (here), and with the script nearly completed, it could very well turn out to be true. However, given that Nolan keeps details on his projects more secret than nuclear launch codes, it’s not very likely to be leaked. With the script due in January, Nolan could be making his big announcement around very soon.
