The crow remake has a director now!
After years of talk of a remake/redo/reimagining ( I hate those titles) of Alex Proyas’ classic gothic tale The Crow, we now have a director officially attatched to the project who will also be penning the screenplay. Stephen Norrington is now the man to take the film into a new territory as he states: “Whereas Proyas’ original was gloriously gothic and stylized, the new movie will be realistic, hard-edged and mysterious, almost documentary-style,”
Now normally I detest remakes. I really do hate the films and the thought of one sends chill up my spine when a favorite film of my past is about to be redone but in this case, i’m not sure if I am now getting used to the idea of one but The Crow actually seems like a viable film to be redone. Sure the film was a major cult hit during my youth and thus still too new to require a remake but after hearing Norringtons views on the film I suspect we may actually get a quality film out of this….Here’s hoping!
Norringtons previous credits included Blade & The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
