The Brood on the remake slab

It looks like one of David Cronenberg’s earlier horror films will be put up on the remake table, that one being The Brood. As preivously reported yesterday, Breck Eisner jumped away from Universal’s Creature from the Black Lagoon and did so for this upcoming feature. Gordon and the Whale reports that Eisner will be directing this 1979 remake.

Eisner is currently in the middle of post-production for the upcoming remake of George A. Romero’s The Crazies. The director is also expected to be helming an upcoming 2012 releasing remake of sorts on Flash Gordon. One thing is for sure, Eisner really does love his remakes, no matter what genre.
