Tatum takes What’s Left of Us

Channing Tatum jumps into the leading man role once more as he signs on to be part of the novel adapted feature of What’s Left of Us, says Deadline. The Richard Farrell novel turned film would throw Tatum in not as some dreamy action star but a heroin addict who struggles to recover out of his deadly habit. By time he was thirty, Richie was a heroin addict, stealing from friends, shooting up during visits to his children, living in abandoned mill buildings, running from the shameful secrets of his family. Hopeless and in pain, he attempted suicide. When that failed, he was ordered to detox.

Berkeley Square Films is financing the picture with no director or writer attached at the moment.

Tatum leaped into stardom which his appearances in films She’s the Man and Step Up 2: The Streets where he melted the hearts of many teenage girls. The actor recently appeared in the Nicholas Sparks novel turned feature Dear John and will be back on the big screen one more time this year in the Kevin Macdonald feature The Eagle of the Ninth.
