Tarantino on Kill Bill & Grindhouse Blu Rays

QT told reporters on the premiere of Inglourious Basterds, that once this film is 100% behind him, we will oversee the Whole Bloody Affair cut of Kill Bill. The House of Blue Leaves sequence is longer internationally than the U.S. version, the anime sequence with O-Ren is extended, as Production IG has finished the scenes Tarantino originally wanted. Also, there are extended scenes connecting the two parts together, making the film flow better as a whole. This new version has been rumored for a long time, and is nearly finished for Blu Ray (I suspect it’ll hit DVD too).

As for Grindhouse, if you remember the theatrical presentation featured both films strung together with a variety of fake trailers in between, was broken up for DVD and Blu Ray. Combining them together like the original intent is highly requested by fans, but Tarantino admits he’s been too lazy to finish it. Expect this to be a ways off.

  1. I refuse to buy Grindhouse until the theatrical experience is released on Blu-ray.

  2. I’m a bit over these films, since one: I waited too damn long for a proper Kill Bill release; two: I’ve seen Kill bill a zillion times; three: I don’t care about Grindhouse anymore.

But yes, these need to be released in their intentional form.
