Tamblyn gets her 127 Hours

Submitted by Melissa Molina on February 9, 2010 – 1:00 amNo Comment

Amber Tamblyn, best known for her role in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, is taking on the female lead in the Danny Boyle directed film 127 Hours. Aron Ralston’s story is of course that of a mountaineer who was forced to amputate his own arm in order to escape entrapment from a fallen boulder and then hike miles to safety (The Playlist). James Franco will be taking on the role of the mountaineer in the Boyle and Simon Beaufoy written piece. The production is under Pathe and Cloud Eight Films with Christian Colson producing.

Earlier in January we reported that Paranormal Activity actress Katie Featherston auditioned for the role of the girlfriend to Ralston in the picture, but it must not have been what Boyle was looking for. The film is expected to be released under Fox Searchlight sometime late in 2010.
