Taking in some more Protection

We reported last week the news that Dwayne Johnson was making his way onto the upcoming action/thriller Protection, and not only is that one hundred percent confirmed but there’s also some story information that’s been dished out today from Collider.

Johnson will star as ‘Hombre’ in the $35 million budgeted, high-octane tale of a mercenary Mexico City security operative forced to smuggle the daughter of an under-threat, high ranking judge and the judge’s chief legal counsel across the border while being pursued by corrupt cops, drug lords and white collar U.S. criminal forces.

Simon West is attached to direct the picture from the script written by Brandon Noonan. Filming is set to start in the fall at New Mexico with a yet to be announced release date. Johnson next will be seen on the big screen in the Adam McKay film The Other Guys, coming out in theaters on August 6th.
