survival_of_the_dead_zombieb-thumb-399x370-21134It looks like George A. Romero’s Survival of the Dead is one step closer to being seen as Magnet Releasing snatches the U.S. rights for the feature. Magnet is going to end up releasing Survival of the Dead on VOD in the spring of next year along with a yet-to-be-announced theatrical release date. Here’s more from the president of Magnolia Pictures and George A. Romero himself from Dread Central.:

“George A. Romero is an undisputed cinematic legend, and we’re honored to be bringing another installment of this incredible series of films to horror fans,” said Magnolia President Eamonn Bowles. “SURVIVAL is smart, extremely fun and a worthy addition to the ‘Of the Dead’ franchise.”

Says Romero, “I’m a big admirer of the team at Magnolia. They’re creative and passionate, and I’m excited to put SURVIVAL in their hands.”

A group of people escape to Plum Island, off the coast of Delaware – a place they think is safe, where they hope to survive the war between the living and the dead, and try to find a cure to bring their undead relatives back into their natural state. The film stars Alan van Sprang and Kenneth Welsh.
