Sundance acquisitions

With the many films premiering at this years Sundance Film Festival we thought we would give you all the latest films which have been sold at this years fest.

Black Dynamite: This blacksploitation film was purchased by Sony Pictures Worldwide for 2 million dollars.

Brooklyn’s Finest: Antoine Fuqua’s latest film which stars Richard Gere and Ethan Hawke  was also purchased by Sony Pictures Worldwide.

Moon: Sam Rockwell’s latest sci-fi film has been purchased by Sony Pictures Worldwide and will be distributed under Sony Pictures Classic  which is set to release the film this June.

Spread: Ashton Kutchers latest comedy was purchased  by Anchor Bay Entertainment for an estimated 3.5 million dollars.   No release date has been set.

Dead Snow: IFC Films purchases this film on 1-18-09 and plans to release the Nazi zombie film later this year.

In The Loop:  The Iraq comedy sold to IFC films today which features James Gandolfini in a behind the scenes look at what happened in Washington and London that lead to the war.

An Education: After a heated bidding war between Sony Pictures Classics and Fox Searchlight, Sony has purchased rights to the film for 3 million dollars.

Adam: This love story featuring Rose Byrne and Hugh Dancy has been purchased by Fox Searchlight on 1-21-08

Humpday: Magnolia Pictures won the heated battle for the comedy Humpday which tells the story of 2 straight friends who dare each other to have sex with each other in a porn film. The audience hit was in a bidding war against 6 different studios with Magnolia Pictures ending up the victor.

The Informers: Senator Entertainment purchased the rights to the Bret Easton Ellis adaptation with a planned U.S. release date of April 10th.

500 Days of Summer: Fox Searchlight purchased this audience favorite for a release this July from music video director Marc Webb.

Adventureland: Superbad director Greg Motolla returns with this crowd pleaser which has been picked up by Miramax.
