Streep in Arthur remake?

It appears that a lot of people are salivating over the idea of Meryl Streep co-starring alongside Russell Brand in the upcoming Arthur remake. It’s a shame though that she does not have any idea about the project right now, so says Showbiz 411. They want the Oscar nominated actress to possibly take on the role of Hobson, the valet who aids Arthur throughout the film. The script is currently being penned by Bruno writer Peter Baynham.

Arthur was originally made in 1981 with the role made famous by actor Dudley Moore. At the moment, there has been no word as to who will play Russell Brand’s leading lady in the remake, which was filled in the original by Liza Minnelli. No specific release date has been set yet for the in-development project right now.
