Spider-Man 4 runs into a wall

Submitted by Melissa Molina on January 5, 2010 – 8:53 pm2 Comments

rossspideyIn the day where a couple of films are getting thrown in and out of hold, this time everyone’s friendly mutated superhero is keeping his costume in storage a bit longer. Sony Pictures announced that although they still have Spider-Man 4 up for an May 6th, 2011 release date that at this point it won’t due to the postponement the studio slapped on the project. Spider-Man 4 was rumored to start up filming in February, but that’s not the case.

The postponement would leave the first big weekend of next summer up for grabs by other studios. “We’ll try, but I think making May is a real question,” the source said. “We will not start until we have it right. The feeling is we are not going to rush it to make the date.” (Variety) The postponement is happening due to script revising, and once everything is all settled up expect an announcement from Sony Pictures once again to boot things right back up with Sam Raimi back at the director’s chair.
