Sony wants some Guns
Sony Pictures is jumping on the foreign film remake bandwagon once again with picking up the rights to the French-Canadian film De père en flic. The action-comedy revolves around two cops — a father-and-son team who can’t stand each other. They are assigned to an investigation to infiltrate an outdoor adventure group/therapy camp for fathers and sons (Variety).
Director Emile Gaudreault will stay on board for the Americanized version of the film, which in English is called Fathers and Guns. What could be considered as something upsetting is the fact that this film has barely gotten a few months past it’s own release date. It came out in its own respected theaters on July 8th of this year, not even giving the foreign film enough time to breathe before it got thrown onto the remake slab.
