Sony looking for a younger Peter Parker and Billy Connors
Andrew Garlfield won’t be the only new guy to play to Peter Parker. Moviehole reports that a casting call has gone out for a young “dark-haired Caucasian boy” to portray a kid version of Peter Parker. Specifically, they’re looking for someone who looks similar to Garfield.
In addition, Sony is looking for someone to portray Billy Connors, the son of Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans). In the comics, Billy Connors suffered cancer, and had to deal with his dad’s transformation into The Lizard. The film is said to be grittier than Raimi’s trilogy, and may serve as a reason for Connors work that leads him to become The Lizard.
It’s unknown if a portion of the film will be set when Parker was a child, or if it’ll be shown by way of flashbacks. Production is scheduled to begin in December with a release in July of 2012.
