Sony has yet to find another web slinger

Remember how all of those rumors started flying about on the casting process for Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Sony Pictures reboot of one of the most popular comic book adapted franchises of this past decade? Throw those all out the window, they aren’t true, so says SuperHeroHype and Sony Pictures themselves.

For awhile there were quite a few speculations flying about on who would end up as the lead character in the 2012 remake Spider-Man. At one point it got so strange that Robert Pattinson was rumored to be looked at for the role. The most reasonable, and almost true of them all was Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief star Logan Lerman becoming our next Peter Parker. Despite all of the claims, reports and even confirmations from Lerman about trying out for the role, it looks like Sony does not have their heart set on him just yet.

Then who could it be? Who would you choose to be the next Peter Parker/Spider-Man? Or would you rather they leave the franchise alone and move onto something else?
