Six for The King’s Speech

Submitted by Melissa Molina on November 16, 2009 – 9:36 amNo Comment

Variety reports that actors Guy Pearce, Jennifer Ehie, Michael Gambon, Timothy Spall, Derek Jacobi and Helena Bonham Carter are all set to be part of the cast of The King’s Speech. Tom Hooper, who’s previous work includes The Damned United, will be directing the history pic. The story centers on a chronicle of King George VI’s effort to overcome his nervous stammer with the assistance of speech therapist Lionel Logue. Geoffrey Rush will be playing the therapist while Colin Firth will play King George VI.

Penning the script will be TV scribe David Seidler with Emile Sherman and Iain Canning producing under See Saw Films. Gaerth Unwin will be producing alongside Bedlam Productions with The Weinstein Company distributing it. No word yet on when this film will be set out into the States, but from the bland kind of plot line this reporter here is in no rush to see it.
