Singer gabs on about Magneto
Magneto is one of the most powerful and memorable villains within the Marvel universe, and rightfully so. With the on and off battle with those who oppose mutants or his ‘homo superior’ vision and despite all of the mind wipes and alternative universes he still is one of the most wonderfully written characters to grace a sector of comics. Bryan Singer got to sit down with Heat Vision Blog and spat out a snippet of what he will be doing in order to gracefully tie together X-Men Origins: Magneto along with his new upcoming project X-Men: First Class.:
“This story would probably utilize some of the Magneto story because it deals with a young Magneto, so it might supersede that because this would explore that relationship between a young energetic professor and a disenfranchised victim of the Holocaust.”
Singer also mentioned through the interview that he would be focusing first on Jack the Giant Killer before he went even further on with X-Men: First Class. This does not mean that he’s not going to be doing anything at all, but he will be still taking in a large part of the creative process with writer Jamie Moss, making sure that this sucker stays on the right track (so we hope).
For now many of us can just contemplate and wonder how the fourth film in the X-Men franchise will turn out. Yes, I am aware that there still is X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but that’s a prequel so again, let’s ponder away at what the fourth film aka X-Men: First Class could end up being. A less wimpier version of Iceman? A better love triangle? Actual character development of Cyclops? Do you think Bryan Singer will fix his past mistakes with the X-Men franchise or will it still be more or less the same?
