Sinestro goes to…Mark Strong?
It looks like Jackie Earle Haley is nothing more than a rumor when it comes to the role of Sinestro in the upcoming DC Comics/Warner Bros Pictures feature The Green Lantern. Martin Campbell dispelled the rumor about Haley but did say that Sherlock Holmes actor Mark Strong is in the middle of talks to take on the villain.
Not only is Strong the next person who will more than likely join up on the cast that already include Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Peter Sarsgaard, but Campbell opens up on even more on who else to expect in the upcoming comic book adaptation. Here’s more straight from MTV Splash Page and SuperHeroHype.:

“He’s not only a wonderful actor, but he looks like Sinestro. If you look up old pictures of Sinestro, he’s very like him,” he told them. ”The Jackie Earle Haley thing, somebody told me about it this morning; I had never heard it before in my life.”
They also asked him about some of the other characters who might appear in the movie to which Campbell replied:Â ”Well, Kilowog will be. Tomar-Re is in it. Sinestro is in it. Abin Sur is in it. All the origin people. Carol [Ferris], of course, who will be played by Blake Lively. All the main characters are there, and it’s a complex story. The origin story of Green Lantern is complex, probably one of the most complex, which makes it a challenge to get it right.”
So what do you think, is Strong a good choice to be the cunning Sinestro? What about the choices of Kilowog and Tomar-Re? Does it already sound like character overload to you, especially for it being an origin story?

I think Haley would have been a better choice, but if you wanted perfect casting choice, then it should have been Hugo Weaving.
