Silent Hills 2 director named

We told you the other day about Lionsgate picking up the option for a Silent Hill 2 at the AFM 2010 (here), now today the studio announced that director Michael Bassett (of the unreleased Solomon Kane) will be the guy for their sequel, now named Silent Hill: Revelations 3D.

Here’s the plot (via Dread Central): “The sequel follows Heather Mason and her father, who have been on the run – always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now, on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by horrific nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.”
