Silent Hill 2 already has a director??

News today comes from American Psycho and Glamorama author Bret Easton Ellis that Silent Hill may already have a director attached to the film’s sequel.  For months now news about a sequel has been quiet, until now, when over at ChuckPalahnuk.net, Ellis was asked if Rules of Attraction director Roger Avery was still going to direct the adaptation to Glamorama and responded:  ”He’s going to be shooting Silent Hill 2. As far as ‘Glamorama’, it’s just very hard to get the money to make it.“ 

This is actually the first the news has been mentioned, so whether Ellis is correct it would be exciting as Avery does have a great directorial style and may inject some needed validity to the overrated horror film.
