Shyamalan announces his next
After M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender was universally panned by both critics and fans, you would think it would be difficult for any studio to back a film by Shyamalan. Perhaps not as Shyamalan will be has announced his next, but it’s not the secret project that had Bruce Willis, Gwenyth Paltrow, and Bradley Cooper loosely attached (here).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, it’s a film called One Thousand A.E. and is looking to star Jaden Smith (The Karate Kid).
As with many of Shyamalan’s projects, the plot details are being kept secret. However, unlike many of his films, One Thousand A.E. isn’t written by Shyamalan. The film is being developed at Overbrook, which is run by Will and Jada Pinket Smith, James Lassiter, Ken Stovitz. No studio has picked up the project, but it could go to Sony, who have a deal with Overbrook.
