Segel now to star in Muppets movie

This should not really come as a surprise that How I Met Your Mother actor Jason Segel is going to be the lead human in the new untitled Muppet movie, says The Hollywood Reporter. Segel is already locked onto the film, currently co-writing the script for with Nicholas Stoller. The unfortunate part is that the story is tight under wraps, but one could only imagine what it could be about, which is not saying much at all.

The new project is being directed by James Bobin, who’s previous credits include several episodes he’s done for Flight of the Conchords and Da Ali G Show. Since the picture is still in the bowels of development, there’s no word yet as to when principal photography will start or what kind of release date is being looked at.

Segel continues to fill up his schedule, recently just landing roles in the raunchy comedy Bad Teacher and co-starring with Ed Helms in the Jay & Mark Duplass film Jeff Who Lives at Home.
